The Postek TX2 / TX3 takes 110mm × 600m ribbon on a 1" core, inside or outside wound.
Codewell Image manufactures that ribbon in Badli, New Delhi — wax, wax-resin and resin grades, slit to your label width, with a free sample before you order.
About the TX2
The TX series is Postek's industrial barcode label printer, made as the TX2 at 203dpi (104mm print width), the TX3 at 300dpi (106mm) and the TX6 at 600dpi (105.6mm). Postek's manual gives one ribbon for the series: up to 118mm wide, up to 600m long, with a roll diameter of up to 84mm on a core of 1 inch (25.4mm) inner diameter, which the manual marks as a minimum. It states no minimum width. The manual says the ink side can be both in and out, and it shows a ribbon path for each, with no optional part named. To check which way a roll is wound, the manual says to stick a label to the outside or inside of the ribbon to check which side the ink is on. At 600m a roll is twice the length of a 300m desktop roll, so a high-volume line changes ribbon half as often. Wax covers paper labels (CW-11, CW-12), wax-resin covers coated paper (CW-20, CW-22), and resin CW-28 is listed for polyester, polypropylene, polyimide and film.

Ribbon specification
Postek gives a ribbon width up to 118mm.
110mm × 600m is the standard size for this model. Because we slit in-house you are not restricted to it: you can order a narrower width that is still a few millimetres wider than your label, so less ribbon overhangs and goes to waste.
Load the ribbon the right way round
Postek's manual says to load the ribbon so that its ink side faces the media. To find the ink side of a roll, stick a label to the outside or inside of the ribbon to check which side the ink is on, as the manual describes. The manual shows one ribbon path for ink side in and one for ink side out.
Which grade for a TX2
The printer does not decide the grade — the label material and the conditions it has to survive do.
Uncoated paper labels (Postek C168)
Matte, semi-gloss and coated paper labels (Postek C168)
Coated paper, polyester and polypropylene labels (Postek TX2, TX3)
Polyester, polypropylene and film labels that meet chemicals or abrasion (Postek TX2, TX3)

Loading ribbon in a Postek printer
Both Postek families here use a 1 inch core (25.4mm). Winding: the TX series takes ribbon wound ink side in or out, and Postek's manual shows a path for each; Postek's C168 manual does not state which side of the ribbon is inked, so we confirm it against your old roll. Give us the model, and ask us to confirm it.
Postek TX2 / TX3 ribbon — common questions
What ribbon size does the Postek TX2 / TX3 use?+
110mm × 600m on a 1" core, inside or outside wound. At 600m a roll covers roughly 6,000 labels at 100mm pitch. We slit 25mm – 160mm, so a non-standard width for your label is not a problem.
Is the TX2 inside or outside wound?+
It accepts both inside- and outside-wound ribbon. Tell us which your current rolls are and we will match them.
Which ribbon grade should I use in a TX2?+
Grade follows the label, not the printer. Industrial units like the TX2 usually run mixed media, so most sites keep a wax for paper and a wax-resin or resin for synthetics rather than compromising on one grade for both.
Can I get a free sample for my TX2?+
Yes. We manufacture in Badli, New Delhi and send samples so you can print on your own TX2 with your own label stock before ordering volume. Wash-care and resin grades in particular are worth testing rather than taking on spec.
Need a size the TX2 does not take as standard? We slit 25mm – 160mm.
