About the E-Class Mark III
The E-Class Mark III is a Datamax desktop printer, at 203 or 300dpi with a print width of 108mm or 106mm. Honeywell's manual lists two ribbon rolls. The short roll is 110m on a ½-inch core. The long roll is 300m on a 1-inch core, and the manual says a 1-inch core needs the ribbon core adapters supplied with the printer. Ribbon width runs from 25mm to 110mm, centred on the core, which matches our narrowest slit of 25mm. The printer takes ribbon coated on the inside (C.S.I.) or the outside (C.S.O.), and the loading steps ask you to work out which one you have first. Honeywell's migration guide lists the E-Class as discontinued, with the PC43 and PC42 as its replacements, so this page is for printers still in service. Wax suits paper labels (CW-11 on uncoated paper, CW-12 on coated). Polyester and polypropylene labels need wax-resin or resin.

Ribbon specification
Also takes 300m on a 1-inch core with ribbon core adapters.
110mm × 110m is the standard size for this model. Because we slit in-house you are not restricted to it: you can order a narrower width that is still a few millimetres wider than your label, so less ribbon overhangs and goes to waste.
Load the ribbon the right way round
Honeywell's manual says the E-Class Mark III can use ribbon coated side in or coated side out, and the loading steps begin by asking which type you have. Ribbon on a 1-inch core must be fitted on the ribbon core adapters supplied with the printer, with the empty take-up core on the other adapter. Centre a ribbon narrower than 110mm on its core.
Which grade for a E-Class Mark III
The printer does not decide the grade — the label material and the conditions it has to survive do.
Uncoated paper labels (Datamax E-Class Mark III)
Matte, semi-gloss and coated paper labels (Datamax E-Class Mark III)
Coated paper, polyester and polypropylene labels (Datamax M-Class Mark II)
Polyester, polypropylene and film labels that meet chemicals or abrasion (Datamax I-Class Mark II)

Loading ribbon in a Datamax (Honeywell) printer
Core sizes: ½ inch on the E-Class Mark III, or 1 inch with Honeywell's ribbon core adapters; 1 inch on the M-Class and I-Class Mark II. Winding: all three take ribbon coated side in or coated side out, with no optional part named in Honeywell's documents. Honeywell's migration guide lists them as discontinued, so this page is for printers still in service. Ask us to confirm your model.
Datamax (Honeywell) E-Class Mark III ribbon — common questions
What ribbon size does the Datamax (Honeywell) E-Class Mark III use?+
110mm × 110m on a ½" core, inside or outside wound. At 110m a roll covers roughly 1,100 labels at 100mm pitch. We slit 25mm – 160mm, so a non-standard width for your label is not a problem.
Is the E-Class Mark III inside or outside wound?+
It accepts both inside- and outside-wound ribbon. Tell us which your current rolls are and we will match them.
Which ribbon grade should I use in a E-Class Mark III?+
Grade follows the label, not the printer. Desktop units like the E-Class Mark III are most often paired with paper stock, where wax (CW-11 or CW-12) is the right grade. Move to wax-resin only if the label is coated or synthetic.
Can I get a free sample for my E-Class Mark III?+
Yes. We manufacture in Badli, New Delhi and send samples so you can print on your own E-Class Mark III with your own label stock before ordering volume. Wash-care and resin grades in particular are worth testing rather than taking on spec.
Need a size the E-Class Mark III does not take as standard? We slit 25mm – 160mm.
