Toshiba B-EV4T ribbon — size, core and grade
The Toshiba B-EV4T takes 110mm × 110m ribbon on a ½" core, outside wound (ink side out).
Codewell Image manufactures that ribbon in Badli, New Delhi — wax, wax-resin and resin grades, slit to your label width, with a free sample before you order.
About the B-EV4T
The B-EV4T is a Toshiba TEC desktop printer, at 203dpi with a 108mm print width or 300dpi with 105.7mm. Toshiba's owner's manual gives ribbon from 33.8mm to 110mm wide on a core with a 12.7mm (½-inch) inside diameter, rolled outside, with a roll diameter of up to 40mm. Toshiba's supply specification for the printer sets the maximum length at 110m, so this is a short roll that runs out sooner than the 450m to 600m rolls of Toshiba's industrial models. The same specification says the ink surface faces outside and shows a notch at each end of the core. Toshiba's documents advise a ribbon at least 5mm wider than the media, and not narrower than the media. Wax suits paper labels (CW-11, CW-12). Polyester and polypropylene labels need wax-resin or resin.

Ribbon specification
Toshiba gives ribbon widths of 33.8mm to 110mm.
110mm × 110m is the standard size for this model. Because we slit in-house you are not restricted to it: you can order a narrower width that is still a few millimetres wider than your label, so less ribbon overhangs and goes to waste.
Which grade for a B-EV4T
The printer does not decide the grade — the label material and the conditions it has to survive do.
Uncoated paper labels (Toshiba B-EV4T)
Matte, semi-gloss and coated paper labels (Toshiba B-SA4T)
Coated paper, polyester and polypropylene labels (Toshiba B-EX4T2)
Polyester, polypropylene and film labels that meet chemicals or abrasion (Toshiba B-EX4T2)

Loading ribbon in a Toshiba printer
Core sizes: ½ inch on the B-EV4T; 1 inch on the B-SA4T and B-EX4T2. Winding: the B-EV4T and B-SA4T are outside wound (ink side out); the B-EX4T2 takes either, set in the printer's system mode. Run a free sample on your own printer, and ask us to confirm your model.
Toshiba B-EV4T ribbon — common questions
What ribbon size does the Toshiba B-EV4T use?+
110mm × 110m on a ½" core, outside wound (ink side out). At 110m a roll covers roughly 1,100 labels at 100mm pitch. We slit 25mm – 160mm, so a non-standard width for your label is not a problem.
Is the B-EV4T inside or outside wound?+
Outside wound — the ink side faces out. Load an inside-wound roll instead and the ink faces away from the label, so the label comes out blank; that reads as a printer fault but is a winding problem. Toshiba gives ribbon widths of 33.8mm to 110mm.
Which ribbon grade should I use in a B-EV4T?+
Grade follows the label, not the printer. Desktop units like the B-EV4T are most often paired with paper stock, where wax (CW-11 or CW-12) is the right grade. Move to wax-resin only if the label is coated or synthetic.
Can I get a free sample for my B-EV4T?+
Yes. We manufacture in Badli, New Delhi and send samples so you can print on your own B-EV4T with your own label stock before ordering volume. Wash-care and resin grades in particular are worth testing rather than taking on spec.
Need a size the B-EV4T does not take as standard? We slit 25mm – 160mm.
