About the B-EX4T2
The B-EX4T2 is Toshiba TEC's industrial 4-inch printer, at 203, 300 or 600dpi with a 104mm print width. Toshiba's owner's manual gives ribbon from 41mm to 112mm wide, with recommended widths of 41, 50, 68, 84 and 112mm, and up to 600m long. Toshiba's product description gives a 1-inch core and a roll diameter of up to 90mm for outside wound ribbon, or up to 80mm for inside wound ribbon. Winding is a printer setting: the manual shows an outside wound and an inside wound way of loading, and says the winding is chosen in the printer's system mode. The manual also pairs each ribbon width with a media width, for example 112mm ribbon with 79mm to 108mm media and 68mm ribbon with 45mm to 63mm media. It asks for ribbon at least 5mm wider than the media, and warns that too wide a ribbon can wrinkle as well. Wax covers paper labels (CW-11, CW-12), wax-resin covers coated paper (CW-20, CW-22), and resin CW-28 is listed for polyester, polypropylene, polyimide and film.

Ribbon specification
Winding is chosen in the printer's system mode. Toshiba gives ribbon widths of 41mm to 112mm.
112mm × 600m is the standard size for this model. Because we slit in-house you are not restricted to it: you can order a narrower width that is still a few millimetres wider than your label, so less ribbon overhangs and goes to waste.
Load the ribbon the right way round
Toshiba's manual shows two ways of loading the ribbon, outside wound and inside wound, and says the winding is chosen in the printer's system mode, so set it to match the roll you load. Use ribbon at least 5mm wider than the media, and leave plenty of slack between the two ribbon spools while loading.

Which ribbon grade should I use in a B-EX4T2?+
Grade follows the label, not the printer. Industrial units like the B-EX4T2 usually run mixed media, so most sites keep a wax for paper and a wax-resin or resin for synthetics rather than compromising on one grade for both.
