Godex RT200i / RT230i ribbon — size, core and grade

The Godex RT200i / RT230i takes 59mm × 110m ribbon on a ½" core.

Codewell Image manufactures that ribbon in Badli, New Delhi — wax, wax-resin and resin grades, slit to your label width, with a free sample before you order.

About the RT200i

The RT200i and RT230i are Godex's 2-inch desktop printers, at 203dpi with a 54mm print width and 300dpi with 56.9mm, printing at up to 7 inches a second at 203dpi and 5 at 300dpi. The ribbon is narrow. Godex lists width from 56mm to 59mm, so the 110mm ribbon of Godex's 4-inch printers does not fit here. The roll is up to 110m long, with a roll diameter of up to 38mm, on a ½-inch core. Our slitting range starts at 25mm, so 59mm is a standard cut for us rather than a special order. Godex states no winding for these two models, so we confirm it against your current roll. Wax suits paper labels, and polyester or polypropylene labels need wax-resin or resin. Free sample first, then volume.

Which grade for a RT200i

The printer does not decide the grade — the label material and the conditions it has to survive do.

Unsure? The ribbon selector narrows it in two questions, or see the full size chart listing the printer models we have checked.

Loading ribbon in a Godex printer

Ribbon size varies by Godex model: the RT200i takes 56–59mm on a ½ inch core, and the RT700 and G500 take up to 110mm on a 1 inch core. Winding varies by model — the EZ2250i accepts both; for desktop models, check your current roll or send us your model number.

Godex RT200i / RT230i ribbon — common questions

What ribbon size does the Godex RT200i / RT230i use?+

59mm × 110m on a ½" core. At 110m a roll covers roughly 1,100 labels at 100mm pitch. Godex lists 56–59mm ribbon for this printer; send us your label width.

Is the RT200i inside or outside wound?+

Godex's documents for the RT200i do not state the winding, so check your current roll: scratch the outer surface with a fingernail — if it marks, the roll is outside wound. We make both and will match your roll.

Which ribbon grade should I use in a RT200i?+

Grade follows the label, not the printer. Desktop units like the RT200i are most often paired with paper stock, where wax (CW-11 or CW-12) is the right grade. Move to wax-resin only if the label is coated or synthetic.

Can I get a free sample for my RT200i?+

Yes. We manufacture in Badli, New Delhi and send samples so you can print on your own RT200i with your own label stock before ordering volume. Wash-care and resin grades in particular are worth testing rather than taking on spec.
