Honeywell PM42 / PM43ribbon size & type
Everything you need to order the right ribbon for a Honeywell PM42 / PM43: the size it takes, the core and winding, and which grade suits your label material.
About the PM42
The PM42 and PM43 are Honeywell's mid-range industrials, common in Indian e-commerce fulfilment centres and 3PL operations. Fulfilment is a high-abrasion environment — labels get scuffed in totes and on conveyors — so wax alone often under-performs even though the media is plain paper. CW-30 is the usual answer where labels are surviving the print but failing the journey.
Ribbon specification
110mm × 450m is the standard size for this model. Because we slit in-house you are not restricted to it — if your label is 60mm, order a 60mm ribbon rather than paying for 110mm and wasting the overhang.
Which grade for a PM42
The printer does not decide the grade — the label material and the conditions it has to survive do. The PM42 runs all three families.
General industrial labels (Honeywell PC42t, PC43t)
Pharma and compliance labels (Honeywell PM45)
Durable synthetic labels (Honeywell PX940)
High-volume economy paper printing (Honeywell PC42t)
Unsure? The ribbon selector narrows it in two questions, or see the full size chart covering every major printer.
Loading ribbon in a Honeywell printer
Honeywell printers typically accept standard ribbon sizes. Most models use inside wound ribbon on 1-inch core. Compact models may use ½-inch core. Confirm with your printer manual or contact us.
Honeywell PM42 / PM43 ribbon — common questions
What ribbon size does the Honeywell PM42 / PM43 use?+
110mm × 450m on a 1" core, inside or outside wound. At 450m a roll covers roughly 4,500 labels at 100mm pitch. We slit 25mm – 160mm, so a non-standard width for your label is not a problem.
Is the PM42 inside or outside wound?+
Inside or Outside wound. Load the opposite winding and the ink faces away from the label, so the page comes out blank — it reads as a printer fault but is a ribbon orientation problem.
Which ribbon grade should I use in a PM42?+
Grade follows the label, not the printer. Industrial units like the PM42 usually run mixed media, so most sites keep a wax for paper and a wax-resin or resin for synthetics rather than compromising on one grade for both.
Can I get a free sample for my PM42?+
Yes. We manufacture in Badli, New Delhi and send samples so you can print on your own PM42 with your own label stock before ordering volume. Wash-care and resin grades in particular are worth testing rather than taking on spec.
Need a size the PM42 does not take as standard? We slit 25mm – 160mm.
