TSC MB240 / MB340 ribbon — size, core and grade
The TSC MB240 / MB340 takes 110mm × 450m ribbon on a 1" core, inside or outside wound.
Codewell Image manufactures that ribbon in Badli, New Delhi — wax, wax-resin and resin grades, slit to your label width, with a free sample before you order.
About the MB240
The MB240 series is TSC's compact light-industrial range: the MB240 at 203dpi and the MB340 at 300dpi, with MB240T and MB340T variants. They print 107mm and 105.7mm wide at up to 12 and 9 inches a second, against 6 and 5 on the ML240 series, and carry an 8-inch label roll. TSC's datasheet lists one ribbon: 450m long, roll diameter up to 81.3mm, 1-inch core, ink coated outside or inside, 40mm to 110mm wide. It names no optional part for either winding, so order whichever winding your stock uses. The sensors listed include a ribbon end sensor and a ribbon encoder sensor. TSC's MH240 series takes 600m rolls; the MB240 stops at 450m. Grade follows the label. Plain paper stays on wax (CW-11, CW-12), coated paper that needs more takes wax-resin (CW-22), and polyester or polypropylene takes resin (CW-28).

Ribbon specification
110mm × 450m is the standard size for this model. Because we slit in-house you are not restricted to it: you can order a narrower width that is still a few millimetres wider than your label, so less ribbon overhangs and goes to waste.
Which grade for a MB240
The printer does not decide the grade — the label material and the conditions it has to survive do.
High-volume paper label printing (TSC TE210, TE310)
General-purpose coated paper labels (TSC TTP-244 Pro)
Harsh environment labels (TSC TTP-2610MT)
Maximum-durability synthetic labels (TSC MH240, MH340)

Loading ribbon in a TSC printer
TSC desktops (TE, TC, TX, TTP-244 Pro, TTP-247, TTP-345) take outside-wound ribbon (ink side out); the industrial MH, ML, MB, MX and TTP-2410M models accept both. Core size: ½ inch for the TC series; 1 inch for the TTP-244 Pro, TTP-247, TTP-345, TX and all industrial models; the TE series takes either (300m on 1 inch, or 110m on ½ inch).
TSC MB240 / MB340 ribbon — common questions
What ribbon size does the TSC MB240 / MB340 use?+
110mm × 450m on a 1" core, inside or outside wound. At 450m a roll covers roughly 4,500 labels at 100mm pitch. We slit 25mm – 160mm, so a non-standard width for your label is not a problem.
Is the MB240 inside or outside wound?+
It accepts both inside- and outside-wound ribbon. Tell us which your current rolls are and we will match them.
Which ribbon grade should I use in a MB240?+
Grade follows the label, not the printer. Industrial units like the MB240 usually run mixed media, so most sites keep a wax for paper and a wax-resin or resin for synthetics rather than compromising on one grade for both.
Can I get a free sample for my MB240?+
Yes. We manufacture in Badli, New Delhi and send samples so you can print on your own MB240 with your own label stock before ordering volume. Wash-care and resin grades in particular are worth testing rather than taking on spec.
Need a size the MB240 does not take as standard? We slit 25mm – 160mm.
