TSC MH240 / MH340 ribbon — size, core and grade
The TSC MH240 / MH340 takes 110mm × 600m ribbon on a 1" core, inside or outside wound.
Codewell Image manufactures that ribbon in Badli, New Delhi — wax, wax-resin and resin grades, slit to your label width, with a free sample before you order.
About the MH240
The MH240 and MH340 are TSC's industrial 4-inch printers, printing 104mm wide, and TSC's table covers the 600dpi MH640 alongside them. The point for a buyer is the roll: TSC lists 600m rolls, with a roll diameter of up to 90mm, on a 1-inch core. That is twice the 300m of TSC's TE and TX desktop rolls, so the same output needs half as many roll changes. TSC's manual gives the winding as ink coated outside or inside, and its loading drawing shows a path for each. It names no optional part for inside-wound ribbon, so tell us which winding your stock is and we cut that. Ribbon width is stated as 25.4mm to 114.3mm. Our narrowest slit is 25mm, so for narrow labels order at 25.4mm or wider; the 110mm standard size sits inside the range. Match the grade to the label. Plain paper stays on wax (CW-11, CW-12), coated paper that needs more than wax moves to wax-resin (CW-15, CW-20, CW-22), and polyester or polypropylene takes wax-resin or resin, such as CW-22 or CW-28.

Ribbon specification
110mm × 600m is the standard size for this model. Because we slit in-house you are not restricted to it: you can order a narrower width that is still a few millimetres wider than your label, so less ribbon overhangs and goes to waste.
Which grade for a MH240
The printer does not decide the grade — the label material and the conditions it has to survive do.
High-volume paper label printing (TSC TE210, TE310)
General-purpose coated paper labels (TSC TTP-244 Pro)
Harsh environment labels (TSC TTP-2610MT)
Maximum-durability synthetic labels (TSC MH240, MH340)

Loading ribbon in a TSC printer
TSC desktops (TE, TC, TX, TTP-244 Pro, TTP-247, TTP-345) take outside-wound ribbon (ink side out); the industrial MH, ML, MB, MX and TTP-2410M models accept both. Core size: ½ inch for the TC series; 1 inch for the TTP-244 Pro, TTP-247, TTP-345, TX and all industrial models; the TE series takes either (300m on 1 inch, or 110m on ½ inch).
TSC MH240 / MH340 ribbon — common questions
What ribbon size does the TSC MH240 / MH340 use?+
110mm × 600m on a 1" core, inside or outside wound. At 600m a roll covers roughly 6,000 labels at 100mm pitch. We slit 25mm – 160mm, so a non-standard width for your label is not a problem.
Is the MH240 inside or outside wound?+
It accepts both inside- and outside-wound ribbon. Tell us which your current rolls are and we will match them.
Which ribbon grade should I use in a MH240?+
Grade follows the label, not the printer. Industrial units like the MH240 usually run mixed media, so most sites keep a wax for paper and a wax-resin or resin for synthetics rather than compromising on one grade for both.
Can I get a free sample for my MH240?+
Yes. We manufacture in Badli, New Delhi and send samples so you can print on your own MH240 with your own label stock before ordering volume. Wash-care and resin grades in particular are worth testing rather than taking on spec.
Need a size the MH240 does not take as standard? We slit 25mm – 160mm.
