TSC TTP-247 / TTP-345 ribbon — size, core and grade
The TSC TTP-247 / TTP-345 takes 110mm × 300m ribbon on a 1" core, outside wound (ink side out).
Codewell Image manufactures that ribbon in Badli, New Delhi — wax, wax-resin and resin grades, slit to your label width, with a free sample before you order.
About the TTP-247
The TTP-247 and TTP-345 are TSC's 4-inch performance desktop printers, at 203 and 300dpi with print widths of 108mm and 106mm. TSC's English datasheet gives one ribbon for both: 300m long, with a roll diameter of up to 67mm, on a 1-inch core, ink coated outside. Width runs from 40mm to 110mm, within our 25–160mm slitting range, and 40mm is the narrowest width TSC lists. That is the long roll, not the 110m ½-inch roll of the TTP-244CE and the TC series, so check the core before you order. Top speed drops with resolution, from 7 inches a second on the TTP-247 to 5 on the TTP-345. The datasheet lists a ribbon end sensor, and two ribbon spindles and a paper ribbon core among the accessories. TSC's English user manual gives no ribbon specification, so this page rests on the datasheet. Plain paper labels stay on wax (CW-11, CW-12). Polyester and polypropylene labels need wax-resin or resin, such as CW-22 or CW-28.

Ribbon specification
110mm × 300m is the standard size for this model. Because we slit in-house you are not restricted to it: you can order a narrower width that is still a few millimetres wider than your label, so less ribbon overhangs and goes to waste.
Which grade for a TTP-247
The printer does not decide the grade — the label material and the conditions it has to survive do.
High-volume paper label printing (TSC TE210, TE310)
General-purpose coated paper labels (TSC TTP-244 Pro)
Harsh environment labels (TSC TTP-2610MT)
Maximum-durability synthetic labels (TSC MH240, MH340)

Loading ribbon in a TSC printer
TSC desktops (TE, TC, TX, TTP-244 Pro, TTP-247, TTP-345) take outside-wound ribbon (ink side out); the industrial MH, ML, MB, MX and TTP-2410M models accept both. Core size: ½ inch for the TC series; 1 inch for the TTP-244 Pro, TTP-247, TTP-345, TX and all industrial models; the TE series takes either (300m on 1 inch, or 110m on ½ inch).
TSC TTP-247 / TTP-345 ribbon — common questions
What ribbon size does the TSC TTP-247 / TTP-345 use?+
110mm × 300m on a 1" core, outside wound (ink side out). At 300m a roll covers roughly 3,000 labels at 100mm pitch. We slit 25mm – 160mm, so a non-standard width for your label is not a problem.
Is the TTP-247 inside or outside wound?+
Outside wound — the ink side faces out. Load an inside-wound roll instead and the ink faces away from the label, so the label comes out blank; that reads as a printer fault but is a winding problem.
Which ribbon grade should I use in a TTP-247?+
Grade follows the label, not the printer. Desktop units like the TTP-247 are most often paired with paper stock, where wax (CW-11 or CW-12) is the right grade. Move to wax-resin only if the label is coated or synthetic.
Can I get a free sample for my TTP-247?+
Yes. We manufacture in Badli, New Delhi and send samples so you can print on your own TTP-247 with your own label stock before ordering volume. Wash-care and resin grades in particular are worth testing rather than taking on spec.
Need a size the TTP-247 does not take as standard? We slit 25mm – 160mm.
