TSC TX200 / TX300 / TX600 ribbon — size, core and grade

The TSC TX200 / TX300 / TX600 takes 110mm × 300m ribbon on a 1" core, outside wound (ink side out).

Codewell Image manufactures that ribbon in Badli, New Delhi — wax, wax-resin and resin grades, slit to your label width, with a free sample before you order.

About the TX200

The TX200, TX300 and TX600 are TSC's desktop printers at 203, 300 and 600dpi. Print width is 108mm on the TX200 and 106mm on the other two. TSC's datasheet gives one ribbon for all three: 300m long, with a roll diameter of up to 67mm, on a 1-inch core, ink coated outside. Top speed falls as resolution rises, from 8 inches a second on the TX200 to 6 on the TX300 and 4 on the TX600, so the TX600 tops out at half the speed of the TX200. Ribbon width runs from 40mm to 110mm, within our 25–160mm slitting range, and 40mm is the narrowest width TSC specifies. The TX210, TX310 and TX610 are separate models that this datasheet does not cover, so read the model plate before you order. Match grade to label: wax on paper (CW-11, CW-12), wax-resin CW-22 on coated paper that needs more, resin CW-28 on polyester and polypropylene.

110mm × 300m is the standard size for this model. Because we slit in-house you are not restricted to it — if your label is 60mm, order a ribbon a few millimetres wider rather than paying for 110mm and wasting the overhang.

Which grade for a TX200

The printer does not decide the grade — the label material and the conditions it has to survive do.

Unsure? The ribbon selector narrows it in two questions, or see the full size chart covering every major printer.

Loading ribbon in a TSC printer

TSC desktops (TE, TC, TX, TTP-244 Pro, TTP-247, TTP-345) take outside-wound ribbon (ink side out); the industrial MH, ML, MB, MX and TTP-2410M models accept both. Core size: ½ inch for the TC series; 1 inch for the TTP-244 Pro, TTP-247, TTP-345, TX and all industrial models; the TE series takes either (300m on 1 inch, or 110m on ½ inch).

TSC TX200 / TX300 / TX600 ribbon — common questions

What ribbon size does the TSC TX200 / TX300 / TX600 use?+

110mm × 300m on a 1" core, outside wound (ink side out). At 300m a roll covers roughly 3,000 labels at 100mm pitch. We slit 25mm – 160mm, so a non-standard width for your label is not a problem.

Is the TX200 inside or outside wound?+

Outside wound — the ink side faces out. Load an inside-wound roll instead and the ink faces away from the label, so the label comes out blank; that reads as a printer fault but is a winding problem.

Which ribbon grade should I use in a TX200?+

Grade follows the label, not the printer. Desktop units like the TX200 are most often paired with paper stock, where wax (CW-11 or CW-12) is the right grade. Move to wax-resin only if the label is coated or synthetic.

Can I get a free sample for my TX200?+

Yes. We manufacture in Badli, New Delhi and send samples so you can print on your own TX200 with your own label stock before ordering volume. Wash-care and resin grades in particular are worth testing rather than taking on spec.

Need a size the TX200 does not take as standard? We slit 25mm – 160mm.
